Independence Group
(ASX:IGO) says the Tropicana Gold Mine has celebrated production of its 1 millionth ounce of gold on schedule, just two years after pouring its first gold.
Tropicana is located 330 kilometers east/northeast of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia and is jointly owned by Anglogold Ashanti and Independence Group.
Anglogold holds a 70 per cent interest and manages the mine, while Independence Group holds a 30 per cent interest.
The company says Tropicana remains one of Australia’s longest life, lowest cost open pit gold mines.
Independence Group reported a net profit of $76.77 million at 30 June 2015.
