AMP announces capital notes offer

AMP Limited (ASX:AMP) is seeking to raise $200 million through a capital notes offer.
 
The company announced the launch of the offer of new additional tier 1 capital securities, AMP capital notes.
 
The capital notes are expected to begin trading on the ASX on 1 December, with a face value of $100. The minimum investment is 50 capital notes and in multiples of 10 capital notes thereafter.
 
AMP CFO Gordon Lefevre said the capital notes issue is part of the AMP group’s ongoing funding and capital management strategy. Mr Lefevre added the proceeds will further strengthen the group’s capital base and meet general funding requirements.
 
AMP Limited recorded a net profit of $891 million at 30 June 2015.
