OZ Minerals announces positive trial results

Company News

OZ Minerals Limited (ASX:OZL) has announced positive trial results from its Hydromet demonstration plant in South Australia.

The trial forms part of a number of initiatives to improve the medium to long-term value of its Carrapateena copper assets.

OZ Minerals CEO and Managing Director Andrew Cole said the company will now continue test work over the next few months on the project, which is already returning copper-in-concentrate levels of more than 55 percent.

If successful, the project will allow OZ Minerals to produce what Mr Cole described as ‘some of the best and cleanest copper concentrate in the world, with virtually no impurities.’

OZ Minerals recorded an underlying net profit of $51.8 million in its half year financial results.
