SKYCITY plans NZ convention centre

Company News

SKYCITY Entertainment Group Limited (ASX:SKC) says that its New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) project has received resource consent approval from Auckland Council.

This allows SKYCITY to seek amendments to the preliminary design changes agreed with the New Zealand government back in May.

The NZICC will be the largest purpose-built convention centre in New Zealand, capable of hosting 3150 people or simultaneous smaller events.

There are also plans for a 300 room 5 star hotel as well as shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

SKYCITY reported a net profit of $114 million for the 2015 financial year.
