Spark marks NZ government review

Company News

Spark New Zealand Limited (ASX:SPK) say the New Zealand government has published a discussion paper as part of a review of the 2001 Telecommunications Act.

The discussion document is a way of recognising the fast paced changes taking place in the New Zealand telecommunications industry since the current regulatory framework was put in place.

The government is seeking input on goals for the sector, wholesale prices for fixed line services after 2020 as well as switching over from fibre to copper services.

The consultation will run until the 27th October.

Spark New Zealand made a net profit of $332 million for the 2015 financial year.
