Aurizon Holdings Limited (ASX:AZJ) has reported a 14 per cent increase in earnings to $907 million for the full year.

Statutory net profit was $604 million up nearly 140 per cent on 2014 thanks to asset impairments and voluntary redundancy costs in that year.

Aurizon says it has achieved $123 million in transformation benefits this year and will increase the dividend payout ratio. A final dividend of 13.9 cents per share was declared.

Looking ahead, Aurizon says it expects further losses in freight revenue to impact the 2016 financial year and will continue its aggressive restructuring program.
