Nine Entertainment Co Holdings
(ASX:NEC) says it has gained exclusive Free-to-air rights for premium National Rugby League content for another five year term.
The deal, which covers the 2018 to 2022 seasons, will see Nine broadcast 4 premium live games each week of season as well as Finals, State-of-Origin and other special events.
Nine has also acquired the free streaming rights for games so whilst pay simulcast rights may be granted, Nine will have exclusive free visual media rights to the games.
The deal almost doubles live coverage of the season giving fans a huge improvement on current viewing options.
Nine Entertainment Company reported a net profit of $90.98 million for the half year to end December 2014.
