Donaco sees strong results for new resort

Company News

Donaco International Limited (ASX:DNA) says that the Star Vegas Resort and Club in Cambodia has seen a strong uptick in turnover which has led to a 17 per cent jump in revenue.

There has been a 54 per cent increase in gross revenue from the VIP gambling tables and an 11 per cent jump in slot machine revenue. Non-gaming revenue is up by 34 per cent.

The growth has been driven by successful marketing of the VIP business and a crackdown of illegal gambling in the Bangkok area by the Thai government.

Donaco says the result will not impact on results for the 2015 financial year as the casino only became part of the group from the start of the 2016 financial year.

Donaco reported a first half net profit result of $762 thousand for the 2015 financial year.
