Oil Search output hits record, lifts guidance

Oil Search Limited (ASX:OSH) has achieved record production in the June quarter and lifted its output guidance for the full calendar year. 

The oil and gas producer increased quarterly production by 7 per cent to 7.41 million barrels of oil equivalent in the second quarter.  

While revenue sank 17 per cent over the quarter the company generated $US864 million over the half, up from $US510 million the year before. 

Looking ahead Oil Search has upgraded its annual output target to between 27 million and 29 million barrels from 26 million to 28 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Oil Search reported a net profit of $161.8 million in the first half of the 2014 calendar year.
