Western Areas Limited
(ASX:WSA) says it will go ahead with the Forrestania Mill Recovery enhancement located 400km east of Perth.
Western Areas says it can increase mill recoveries by up to five per cent over the life of the mine resulting in an additional 1,200 tonnes of nickel concentrate.
The nickel producer says the upgrade should cost around $22 million with the six month construction to start in July 2016.
GR Engineering Services has been awarded the EPC Contract under a guaranteed maximum price arrangement.
Western Areas reported a net profit of $23.5 million for the first half of the 2015 financial year.
