The owner of IGA supermarkets Metcash Limited
(ASX:MTS) has appointed a new supermarkets chief almost four months after its last boss departed.
Former Coles executive Steven Cain will take the reins from Fergus Collins who left in March after 13 years with the company.
Group CEO Ian Morrice had taken on the day to day running of the supermarket’s business in the time prior to today’s announcement.
The grocery wholesaler has also today appointed Mark Hewlett as executive general manager for new channels.
Metcash reported a net loss of $383 million in the year to the end of April 2015.
