Qantas Airways Limited
(ASX:QAN) and its budget arm Jetstar are boosting services to Bali to bring Aussies back home after volcanic ash grounded flights left travellers stranded.
Australia’s biggest airline says Jetstar will more than double seat capacity out of Bali today to help bring another 2,400 customers back to Australia.
Qantas will operate flights on some of Jetstar’s domestic and international routes and also assist with connecting Jetstar customers from Perth to Sydney and Melbourne.
While the airline plans to add even more flights it has noted the ash cloud’s movement is highly unpredictable and warned more cancellations may occur.
Qantas Airways reported a net profit of $206 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
