Hutchison Telecommunications Limited’s
(ASX:HTA) 50 per cent owned Vodafone Hutchison Australia is advancing its network upgrade.
The telco says it has reached a major milestone in its core network upgrade with all customers now using the new network for 4G data sessions.
Vodafone says its new core network offers greater agility and flexibility and will deliver a better 4G experience for customers.
Vodafone’s 4G network reaches 96 per cent of Australia’s metropolitan population and the company says customer demand for fast 4G data is continuing to grow.
Looking ahead the next network developments include the introduction of Voice over 4G, also known as VoLTE, which is planned for later this year.
