Transfield Services to work on $1.6B contract

A consortium including Transfield Services Limited (ASX:TSE) has been awarded a $1.6 billion contract to work on the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project.
 
The maintenance and construction services company is part of the Nexus consortium who have been selected by the Queensland government as the preferred tender. 
 
Transfield's scope of work includes operations and maintenance services upon the project's completion which is expected to be in late 2018. 
 
CEO Graeme Hunt says the long term partnership with the Queensland government will provide a strong and expanding revenue base for Transfield's infrastructure business.
 
Transfield Services reported a net profit of $8.4 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
