Telstra expands health offering with ReadyCare

Company News

Telstra Corporation Limited’s (ASX:TLS) health division is expanding its health offering with the launch of ReadyCare.

Australia’s largest telco says the GP telemedicine service provides the choice to connect with a doctor using phone or video and receive advice, treatment, diagnosis and prescriptions.

Telstra expects the service will make accessing a doctor easier, especially at times when people may not be able to visit their regular GP.

ReadyCare has employed registered Australian doctors who will operate the service 24 hours a day and it can be accessed by calling or using the app.

Patients will first speak to a telemedicine assistant to determine if the call is suitable for a telemedicine consultation and a GP will then call them back at a time that suits the patient.

Telstra reported a record net profit of $2.11 billion in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
