Atlas Iron Limited
(ASX:AGO) has recommenced mining operations at its Mount Webber mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The iron ore miner says processing is planned to start mid-July with Mt Webber ore tonnes contributing to shipping shortly thereafter.
The mine is targeting a production rate of 6 million tonnes per annum which will contribute to the company’s targeted year end output rate of between 14-15 million tonnes per annum.
Managing Director David Flanagan says Atlas Iron is on track to grow production with significantly improved margins compared to operations pre-suspension thanks in large part to the support of its key contractors and suppliers.
Atlas Iron reported a net loss of $1.08 billion in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
