Iron ore miner Sphere Minerals Limited
(ASX:SPH) has appointed Jonathon Romcke as its new Managing Director after Mark Eames resigned late last month.
The company is a subsidiary of Swiss-based mining giant Glencore and says the appointment will take effect immediately.
Mr Romcke has been a project manager for the company’s El Aouj division and was recently appointed to the board of directors.
The company says that as a Glencore employed Executive Director, Mr Romcke will not receive separate remuneration from Sphere.
Sphere Minerals reported a net loss of $380 million in the 2014 calendar year.
