Aurizon Holdings Limited
(ASX:AZJ) has secured a new 11 year contract to haul coal for Caldedon Coal.
The deal is for haulage of up to four million tonnes per annum from Cook mine in Central Queensland to the Wiggins Island Coal Terminal at Gladstone.
The new contract cements a long term relationship and super cedes the existing contract for half a million tonnes per annum.
The haulage company recently announced a cost cutting program to generate $100 million in savings.
Aurizon reported a 188 per cent jump in net profit to $308 million for the first six months of the 2015 financial year.
