Patties reports test results after berry scare

Company News

Patties Foods Limited (ASX:PFL) has reported scientific test results for its Nanna's brand Mixed Berries product which was hit by a contamination scare in February.

The food manufacturer and distributor says results from its global testing of recalled berries show no detection of either Hepatitis A or E. Coli and no evidence of any systemic failure of the company’s quality assurance programs.

Since the scare Patties Foods has increased its testing regime and believes its Nanna’s and Creative Gourmet brand berries are among the most rigorously microbiologically tested berries sold in the market.

The company says it is still too early to determine the financial impact of the recall to company but it is possible that it will prove to be material.

Patties Foods reported a net profit of $8.2 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
