Global mining company Rio Tinto Limited
(ASX:RIO) has awarded Viento Group Limited
(ASX:VIE) and its Koodaideri Viento Joint Venture entity a $7.3 million contract.
The five month contract is for work on the Rio Tinto Hope Downs 4 Waste Fines Facility Project from June.
Viento Group is expected to work on the construction and commissioning of the tailings storage facility including the bulk and detailed earthworks of the embankment lift.
Hope Downs 4 is being development by Rio Tinto and its joint venture partner Hancock Prospecting and located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
Rio Tinto reported a net profit of $7.92 billion in the 2014 calendar year.
