BC Iron awards Viento Group $40M contract

Company News

BC Iron Limited (ASX:BCI) has awarded Viento Group Limited (ASX:VIE) a mining, crushing and screening contract valued at about $40 million over two years.

The iron ore producer says the work will take place at the Warrigal hub at its Nullagine Joint Venture with Fortescue Metals Group Limited (ASX:FMG) and assist savings.

Viento Group will oversee materials processing and running the continuous miners, loading, hauling, crushing and screening of the ore from next month.

BC Iron’s Managing Director Morgan Ball says the company’s contracting strategy is key to its cost cutting efforts and facilitating meaningful savings for the Warrigal hub.

BC Iron reported a net loss of $96.31 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
