Freelancer accelerates expansion by acquisition

Company News

Online job outsourcing company Freelancer Limited (ASX:FLN) has announced its second acquisition this month as it accelerates its global expansion.

Freelancer will buy the assets of Projectlinkr.com, an online marketplace focused mainly on the Spanish speaking market with more than 140,000 registered freelancers.

The purchase will be funded from Freelancer’s existing cash reserves and is not expected to have a material impact on revenue this year.

Freelancer’s acquisition of Projectlinkr comes just weeks after it bought the assets of an Israeli freelance job marketplace and aggregator called DoNanza.

Freelancer booked a net loss of $1.84 million over the 2014 calendar year.
