Company News

DuluxGroup Limited (ASX:DLX) has outlined plans to spend $165 million to build a new paint factory in Melbourne.

The paint and building products company will also reduce activity at its Rocklea facility in Queensland which is expected to result in some job losses.

The new Melbourne factory is poised to make water-based decorative paints while Rocklea’s production will focus on solvent-based decorative paints.

Managing Director Patrick Houlihan says the investment further strengthens the company’s product quality, innovation, customer service and cost competitiveness.

DuluxGroup reported a net profit of $102.8 million in the 12 months to the end of September 2014.
