AMP attracting global infrastructure funds

AMP Limited (ASX:AMP) subsidiary AMP Capital has raised more than $US540 million in new commitments for its global infrastructure platform during the last six months.
 
The specialist investment manager has also advised its AMP Capital Global Infrastructure Fund has reached its first close after securing commitments from around the world. 
 
AMP Capital says its strategy focuses on mature, brownfield assets holding monopolies or long-term contracted revenues in sectors offering the best relative value.
 
The global infrastructure platform is targeting a final size of about $US2 billion and is now more than half way towards meeting its target.
 
AMP reported a net profit of $971 million in the 2014 calendar year.
