Patties Foods berries hit with contamination fears

Company News

Patties Foods Limited (ASX:PFL) 1kg packs of Nanna’s Frozen Mixed Berries have been hit with fears of contamination over the weekend.

As a result the food manufacturer and distributor is undertaking a voluntary full national consumer recall as a precautionary measure as it begins a testing process of the product.

Patties Foods says the recall comes following advice from the Victorian Health Department of potential Hepatitis A contamination.

The company has asked consumers not to eat the product and return packs to the place of purchase for a full cash refund while stores have been asked to remove the product.

Patties Foods reported a net profit of $16.68 million in the 2014 financial year.
