Lend Lease Group
(ASX:LLC) has won the $2.6 billion engineering and construction contract to build the NorthConnex Motorway in Sydney, New South Wales.
The deal part of a joint venture with French infrastructure contractors Bouygues Construction and includes the integration and widening of the M2 Motorway that links the north shore and fast-growing Hills districts with the CBD.
As well as the upgrade, a nine kilometer twin tunnel will link the southern end of the M1 Motorway at Wahroonga to the M2 Motorway at Pennant Hills easing the traffic burden on a gridlocked Pennant Hills Road.
Lend Lease reported a net profit of $823 million for the 2014 financial year.
