Best performing ASX 200 stocks in 2014

Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (ASX:LNG) was the best performing stock on Australia’s benchmark index in 2014. The liquefied natural gas developer’s share price rocketed more than 720 per cent over a year filled with acquisitions and project acceleration. 
 
Biotechnology and medical device company Sirtex Medical Limited (ASX:SRX) took the silver medal with its stock surging almost 142 per cent. 

Australia's biggest airline Qantas Airways Limited (ASX:QAN) scored bronze after lifting almost 120 per cent following a strong financial turnaround. 

Fourth on the ladder APN News and Media Limited’s (ASX:APN) stock price jumped 98 per cent. Gold producer and explorer Northern Star Resources Limited (ASX:NST) came in the fifth position with a share price gain of 90 per cent over the 2014 calendar year. 

Rounding out the top ten services provider Transfield Services Limited (ASX:TSE) and telecommunications provider Vocus Communications Limited (ASX:VOC) both advanced about 83 per cent.

Document-management and data-storage company Recall Holdings Limited (ASX:REC) rose 77 per cent, fuel and oil products provider Caltex Australia Limited (ASX:CTX) climbed more than 70 per cent and packaging business Orora Limited (ASX:ORA) increased 68 per cent in 2014.
