Telstra strikes new $390M NBN contract

Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS) has struck a planning & design contract with the National Broadband Network (NBN) valued at about $390 million. 
 
Australia’s biggest telco says the contract term is up to four years and services will support the rollout of the NBN. 
 
Telstra also advises the value will be subject to the rate of progress in the NBN rollout and the outcome of future price reviews under the terms of the contract.
 
Work will include preparing network plans and designs to support NBN Co’s multi-technology mix NBN rollout including fibre to the node, fibre to the basement and fibre to the premises.
 
The news came in the same week Telstra revised its $11 billion deal with NBN Co and the Federal Government to deliver the National Broadband Network
 
Telstra Corporation reported a net profit of $4.34 billion in the 2014 financial year.
