Drilling Set to Commence at Trenggalek
Arc Exploration Limited (ASX Code: ARX) is pleased to announce that the first drill rig has been mobilised to the Trenggalek Project in East Java with drilling expected to start within the next week.
The first series of holes will be drilled at the Sentul Prospect with a focus on the promising vein system in the southern part of the tenement. The objective is to test for both depth and strike extensions of high-grade drill intersections such as 2.0 m at 17.2 g/t gold and 13 g/t silver in TRDD-4 that were discovered by the scout-drilling programme in 2010.
The second series of holes will be drilled at Suruh in the northern part of the tenement. These will test for gold-bearing veins and stockworks beneath the extensive silicified breccias that have recently returned elevated gold and pathfinder geochemistry.
The mobilisation of this first rig to Trenggalek is the start of a planned 15,000 metre drilling program to be conducted throughout this year at the Trenggalek and Bima Projects. At Bima the Company is working towards commencing drilling at the earliest opportunity.
Managing Director Mr. John Carlile commented:
“We are pleased to be commencing the drilling program. The areas we are targeting all have potential to prove up new gold resources. With gold at record highs, timing could not be better. We are looking forward to reporting results at the earliest opportunity.
The commencement of the 15,000 metre drilling programme, contracted earlier in the year, is the start of a promising exploration phase for Arc that will continue throughout the year.”
