Golden Cross Resources (ASX: GCR) has commenced detailed gravity surveys at its Copper Hill project in New South Wales. The surveys aim to delineate subsurface structures and intrusive bodies within Exploration Licence EL6391 and will complement existing datasets, including ground magnetics and Induced Polarisation.

The stage 1 survey will cover up to 580 gravity stations at 400-metre intervals, targeting areas that have been lightly explored. The data will also serve as potential precursor information for ambient noise tomography, a technology that has been enhanced by gravity interpretations.

Copper Hill is part of the Macquarie Arc volcanic belt, home to major gold-copper deposits, including the Cadia-Ridgeway mine. The project lies 50 kilometres north of Cadia along the northern edge of a structural corridor associated with the Lachlan Transverse Zone.

Golden Cross has confirmed that its mineral resource estimate for Copper Hill, released in September 2022, remains unchanged. The resource classification includes 31 percent measured, 39 percent indicated, and 30 percent inferred material. The estimate was compiled by Arnold van der Heyden, a Chartered Professional (Geology) with H&S Consultants Pty Ltd.

The company has noted that forward-looking statements in its announcement are subject to risks and uncertainties, and actual exploration results may differ from expectations. Golden Cross plans to continue its exploration efforts at Copper Hill, with further surveys and drilling programs expected to refine the project’s geological model.
