Rare earths miner Lynas (ASX:LYC) Malaysia and MARA Corporation have signed an MOU to work collaboratively on several key projects, including attracting downstream industries and downstream customers to Malaysia.

MARA Corporation is a government agency that acts as an impact economy investor, creating and developing investments in key sectors.

Last year Lynas was in a battle to remove tonnes of waste from Malaysia to secure the company’s licence renewal.

It’s hoped the move will help to develop opportunities to further enhance Malaysia’s green and high-tech industries.

Shares in Lynas (ASX:LYC) closed 0.8 per cent higher at $2.52 yesterday.
