Phoslock Environmental Technologies (ASX:PET) US licensee SePro Corp has today placed a significant order for Phoslock to be used in Florida projects.

This comes after several trials showing how the product successfully reduced the Phosphorous levels in wetlands.

A Blue Green Algae Task Force has been established in the US with State and Federal Funding to identify and test solutions to the problem of the increasingly Harmful Algal Blooms.

It’s hoped there will be some protection for sensitive downstream ecosystems such as the Everglades, which are at serious ecological risk due to phosphorous concentrations.

Shares in Phoslock Environmental Technologies (ASX:PET) are trading 5.8 per cent higher at $1.28.
