AGL Energy enters Gas Supply Agreement with Esso Australia

AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) today announced it has entered into a Gas Supply Agreement with Esso Australia Resources for the purchase of a total of 50 petajoules of gas.

The agreement will start in 1 January 2021 and finish on 31 December 2022 and support AGL’s continued supply of its gas customers.

AGL says it remains committed to securing cost-competitive gas supply for its customers from the domestic market, where it is available, and new gas supply from international markets through its proposed AGL Gas Import Jetty.

Shares in AGL Energy (ASX:AGL) closed 0.53 per cent lower to $18.86 yesterday.
