Shine and Slater & Gordon dismiss merger speculation

Shine Corporate and Slater and Gordon have hit back at media speculation regarding a merger between the two listed law firms.

The Financial Review today reported that Shine and Slater and Gordon the country's second and third largest plaintiff firms had held high-level discussions about the potential for a merger.

However Shine and Slater and Gordon have both dismissed the reports with Shine stating that no such transaction is proposed or imminent.

Slater and Gordon provided a similar response to the ASX this morning stating no such discussion are occurring and that no such transaction is under consideration.

Shares in Shine Corporate (ASX:SHJ) are trading flat at 65 cents.
