Downer EDI awarded five year mining contract extension

Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) has secured a five year mining contract extension by Millmerran Power Partners.

Downer will continue to provide mining services at the Commodore open cut coal mine in South East Queensland until the end of August 2024.

The contract extension is valued at $286 million.

The integrated services company has been providing a total mining service at Commodore since 2001 to deliver coal to the Millmerran power station.

Shares in Downer (ASX:DOW) are trading 0.19 per cent lower at $7.79.
