Avanco one step closer to Pedra Branca Copper Project

Copper mining company Avanco Resources (ASX:AVB) has announced its Pedra Branca Copper Project has come a step closer to development following a successful public hearing in Brazil.

No objections were recorded at the hearing indicating a strong level of support for the copper mine.

While further Government approvals are required the successful completion of the hearing is a significant step towards the granting of a provisional license.

The purpose of the public hearing was to discuss the potential social and environmental impacts of the mine on the local communities.

Shares in Avanco (ASX:AVB) are trading up 1.47 per cent to 17 cents.
