Buru Energy Limited (ASX:BRU) has indicated its Ungani operations have been affected by Cyclone Hilda, which is progressing down the Kimberly coast.

Originally graded a category one cyclone, Hilda has already wreaked destruction in Broome and Northern WA.

Buru has confirmed all operations at Ungani are proceeding safely in accordance with contingency plans, but the access road to the field and rig has been temporarily closed.

The closure may result in a short delay in running the completion on the Ungani 5 well.

Shares in Buru Energy Limited (ASX:BRU) are trading 1.59 per cent lower at $0.31.
