Lithium miner, Kidman Resources’ (ASX:KDR) Mt Holland project near Southern Cross, has been granted as a ‘Lead Agency Service’ by the Western Australian Government.

The endorsement by WA Premier Mark McGowan covers the development of the mine, processing plant and refinery.

Kidman Resources says this reinforces the potential economic contribution that the proposed open pit mine can bring not only to the local shire but as a standalone Australian lithium refinery.

Following its scoping study which defined production targets, its site selection for the refinery to produce lithium hydroxide and or carbonate is well underway.

Shares in Kidman Resources (ASX:KDR) are trading about 2.7 per cent higher at $1.34.
