Genex Power (ASX:GNX) announces Critical Infrastructure Declarations

Interviews

The Queensland Government has declared the Kidston renewable energy hub Critical Infrastructure, which is a very significant declaration for Genex because its one of only two projects in Queensland that has that status.

The Kidston renewable energy project comprises 250 megawatts of pump storage hydro. Pump storage is like a giant water battery which allows energy to be stored and dispatched when it is required.

I think the declaration emphasises that the Queensland Government is very willing to support this project through the development stage, so we can then kick off construction in 2018.
