The company was founded some 15 plus years ago. We are on track right now to commercialise our platform. The company is more than just algorithms. We are creating a decision support system for clinicians, general practitioners, psychiatrists and psychologists, to use in the diagnosis of a multitude of mental illnesses; anything from PTSD to Schizophrenia to unipolar and bioploar depression. The problem really is, this is a very very untapped market.
As you can fathom I’ve spent years in the chronic disease management side, looking at patients. I came from Medtronic (ASX:MDT) and well after that I was at Impedimed (ASX:IPD). But looking at patients in the oncology space, in the cardiology space and diabetes space; thinking that the chronic disease management side of things really had to do with those patients that are taking a very small part of the population.
The most interesting part or the most undeserved population, happen to be the folks that were being left behind, which are the folks struggling with mental illness. The solution is that we provide the GPs with a tool, to assist them in being able to do more effective treatment, getting the right drug to the right person, at the right time.
