Lucapa Diamond Company Limited
(ASX:LOM) says production in the December quarter was up 147 per cent on the same time last year and also its highest quarterly production during the Angolan wet season.
Sales during the quarter achieved an average price of US$3,111 per carat.
Gross sales for 2016 now stand at $69.5 million with an average price per carat of $2,983, the highest for any run of mine diamond production in the world in 2016.
The number of ‘specials’ recovered is up as is the average size of diamonds at 1.9 carats per stone compared to 1.3 carats in the same quarter last year.
