The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) experienced settlement delays on Wednesday following a surge in trading volume triggered by market volatility related to the Trump administration’s newly imposed tariffs. The ASX notified stockbrokers and investors that its clearing and settlement system, known as CHESS, faced processing slowdowns due to the unexpected surge in activity on Monday. The delays affected the settlement of trades by approximately half an hour.
