Virgin Australia Holdings Limited
(ASX:VAH) says the Australian competition regulator, the ACCC, has re-authorised its alliance with US based Delta Airlines.
The company says it will be able to offer a single integrated network with services between Australia and the US and within their respective internal routes.
ACCC Chairman, Rod Sims, says the alliance has resulted in enhanced products and services including increased and better services, access to each other’s flights and better schedule spread.
The ACCC says Virgin and Delta have a combined market share of around 37 per cent on the Sydney to LA route.
Virgin Australia reported a net loss of $93.8 million in the 2015 financial year.
