17 July 2014 – SYDNEY - nearmap ltd
(ASX:NEA), Australia’s leading provider of frequently-updated, high-resolution imagery, is pleased to announce the launch of a new aerial camera system designed to fit in the cabin of any aircraft with a standard camera hole.
The new camera system, dubbed HyperCamera, complements nearmap’s existing HyperPod. While HyperPod captures both vertical and oblique (45-degree) imagery and is deployed as an external pod, HyperCamera is optimised for vertical imagery and is compact enough to be deployed inside an aircraft. This allows quick certification by National Aviation Authorities such as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the US. Both systems utilise nearmap’s patented aerial camera technology, which allows rapid and efficient capture of large metro areas. HyperCamera also incorporates additional patent-pending advances.
