Metro Mining has received final Commonwealth Government environment approval for the Bauxite Hills Mine north of Weipa.
The Commonwealth Government has approved the Bauxite Hills Project component of the re-named Bauxite Hills Mine which now incorporates the previous Skardon River Bauxite Project.
Both Commonwealth and State environmental approvals for Bauxite Hills Mine have now been secured.
Metro Managing Director Simon Finnis said final approval was the culmination of an extensive environmental assessment and community consultation process.
