Ten Network Holdings Limited (ASX:TEN) has appointed Barry O’Brien as chief sales officer, starting June 25.

Ten says Mr O’Brien is one of Australia’s most experienced media executives.  

He ran media agency PHD and its predecessor Total Advertising & Communications for twenty-one years.

Chief executive James Warburton says Mr O’Brien is a proven leader who needs little introduction.

Mr O’Brien will be responsible for the Network Ten sales department covering Ten, Eleven, One and Ten’s digital media assets, and Connect, the cross-platform media division. 
 
In the first half of the 2012 financial year, Ten reported a net profit of $20 million.
