Operations Report: Well Workover Operations Commence on Ridge Runner 11-17 Gas Well Located at Clear Creek, Utah Project
Marion Energy Limited (ASX: MAE, MAEO, MAEOA) advises that workover operations on the Ridge Runner 11-17 (RR 11-17) well at its Clear Creek project have commenced.
This well was drilled by Marion in 2006 and has been shut in since it was completed and subsequently connected to the gathering system and pipeline. This well underwent extensive testing during the completion operations and production test rates in excess of 5 million cubic day feet of gas per day were achieved over several months of testing.
The decision to commence workover operations on this well was taken following the excellent progress made on the wells currently undergoing workover operations. The well is considered to potentially be the biggest producer of Marion’s Clear Creek wells. The well is located on the same drill pad as the RR 13-17 well where significant progress has been made with workover operations. The operation to recommence production operations at the RR 11-17 well necessitated the temporary shutdown of operations on the RR 13-17 well for approximately a week, but operations are now recommencing on this well.
The RR 11-17 has a high volume pumping unit installed on the wellhead. As with all the other wells currently undergoing workover operations, pumping operations have commenced to draw down the fluid level in the well to a target level of about 200 feet above the pump before optimum producing conditions will be achieved. The well has already reacted positively to the commencement of these operations. Gas flow is expected to commence and increase as the water level is drawn down in the well bore and the back pressure is lowered on the reservoir.
The Company has a 100% working interest in the Clear Creek project.
