Kentor Gold Limited (Kentor Gold or the Company) is an Australian-based, emerging gold mining company listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX: KGL).
Towards its goal of becoming a mid-tier gold producer, Kentor Gold plans to develop the high grade, low cost Andash gold-copper project in the Kyrgyz Republic, targeting production in 2011.
Production is planned at an average annual rate of 60,000 oz gold and 6,800 tonnes copper for an initial six and a half years.
Andash (Kentor Gold 80% increasing to 90%) is a government-approved project, well located for open pit development, with infrastructure in place (road, water, power and workforce) and a mining and construction fleet already assembled. The Company is currently raising project finance for Andash.
Kentor Gold is uniquely positioned in central Asia, having been in the Kyrgyz Republic since 1998 with a long established, experienced, Russian speaking team.
Kentor Gold is also exploring for gold elsewhere in the Kyrgyz Republic, including Savoyardy (Kentor Gold earning 70%) where the Company is aiming to build a substantial, high grade project upon the small Resource currently established there.
Kentor Gold is also engaged in exploration for geothermal energy in the Kyrgyz Republic and elsewhere in central Asia.
