AEROMAGNETIC SURVEY COMMENCED
Cabral Resources Limited (ASX Code: CBS) ("Cabral") advises that its high resolution aeromagnetic survey program has now commenced in the Lagoa Real region where 1,002.9 km² and a total of 7,376 km of flight lines are planned. This area embraces the key Cabral tenements in and around Morro do Gergelim, Itaquarai and Ibitira.
This will be immediately followed by surveys over two further areas of 402.1 km² and 315.4 km² respectively, in the broader surrounding regions for a total of 5,417 km flight lines. These are areas which Cabral considers to be prospective for iron ore.
The aeromagnetic program is being performed by Fugro-LASA, the Brazilian subsidiary of the worldwide and highly respected Fugro Group.
The survey areas are being flown at a terrain clearance of 100 metres and with lines at 150 metre spacing. The data recovery phase is expected (subject to weather) to be completed within 60 days after which data will be processed and progressively released to Cabral for further processing and interpretation.
The total survey will now cover an area of approximately 1,720 km² and is expected to be an invaluable exploration tool in relation to Cabral's existing tenement portfolio. It is also expected that the results of the wider regional survey will allow Cabral to confirm the iron ore prospectivity of other areas it has identified and will assist Cabral to identify new target areas for its regional ground consolidation and acquisition efforts.
