AuStar Gold announces Rose of Denmark Trial Mining Reconciliation

AuStar Gold Limited (ASX: AUL) (‘AuStar Gold’ or ‘the Company’) provides the following operational update and progress at its Rose of Denmark (RoD) gold mine where recent gold-bearing mineralised material has been successfully mined and processed.

Highlights:

  • Processed Gold head grade materially higher (191%) than mining and face sampling gold grades (Upgrade )
  • Significant sampling variability due to presence of coarse gold
  • Mining confirms high grade drill intersections
  • Optimal mining method to be determined during AuStar Gold’s Stage II exploration program
AuStar Gold CEO, Tom de Vries said “The gravity process plant at Morning Star successfully processed the Rose of Denmark gold bearing material as reported on the ASX on 24th October 2018.

The upgrade result from mined face assay to processing assay is very encouraging, with further work required to determine the optimal mining method. The variability of the assay results is expected with small sample sizes and is the very nature of high grade nuggety gold. This requires us to further assess the most efficient method of measuring, monitoring and extracting the high-grade zones initially identified by diamond drilling.

Our Stage II exploration program will provide this required analysis. As announced last week an underground percussion rig has been introduced to provide more data at a local stope level and a diamond drill rig will be introduced to test the wider mine areas to depth
